Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has become Arsenal’s highest-paid player

This means Partey, who is reportedly on a £220,000 per week wage, has now become the

Gunners’ top earner.

The midfielder joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020 in a deal reported

to be worth £45 million.

The 28-year-old is currently in his second season with the Gunners and has played 18 times

this season for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang would hope to relaunch his career at Barcelona following a tough

last few weeks at the Emirates.

The Gabon international was suspended in December for a disciplinary breach after he

allegedly stayed an extra day after visiting his mother in France.

He was later stripped of the club’s captaincy, with Arteta announcing that the player will

remain frozen out of the first team.

Aubameyang was also unable to feature at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for Gabon

after testing positive for Covid on the eve of the tournament.

His transfer to Barcelona, though, gives him the perfect opportunity to get his career back on track.
