SADIO MANE HAS SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT WITH BAYERN MUNICH

SADIO MANE

Sadio Mane has signed a three-year contract with Bayern Munich for £35 million.

"I'm very happy to finally be with FC Bayern in Munich," Mane said, according to the club's website.

"We talked a lot, and I could tell this big club was interested right away. So there was no question in my mind from the beginning: this is the right time for this challenge. I want to accomplish a lot with this club, both locally and internationally. During my time in Salzburg, I attended many FC Bayern games - I adore this club!"

Mane arrived in Munich on Tuesday to finish his medical at the Barmherzige Bruder hospital. At lunchtime, he was seen leaving the hospital in Bayern's training gear to sign autographs.

"We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Sadio Mane for FC Bayern," said Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn. Few players in the world can match his outstanding performances and great successes at the highest international level over many years.

"Sadio Mane's spectacular style of play will no doubt delight our fans in the coming years. He's driven and eager to win more championships. This package is extremely powerful. With players like him at FC Bayern, anything is possible."

'I'LL BE LIVERPOOL'S NUMBER ONE FAN'

Mane has been at Liverpool for six years, having joined from Southampton for £31 million plus £2.5 million in add-ons, and has scored 120 goals in 269 appearances across all competitions.

"Obviously, it's strange – really, really strange – not to be a Liverpool player after six years at Anfield," he said.

But, of course, I had a fantastic time, an unbelievable time, and I have really, really enjoyed training and playing, especially at Anfield and in front of these incredible supporters, since my first day. What can you say now that it's all over?

"After every one of my games in Munich, I will come to the dressing room and watch Liverpool, because I will always be Liverpool's No. 1 fan." "I just want to wish them luck and let them know I'm keeping an eye on them." And they will undoubtedly improve because I know the boys: great players, great talent, great maturity and attitude, so Liverpool will undoubtedly improve."

The 30-year-old man

In 2019, he helped Liverpool end a 30-year wait for a Premier League title and win their sixth Champions League.

Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez for a club record fee of £85 million last week, as well as promising midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Fulham and Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay.
