According to sources close to the government, President Raisi died at the age of 63 years due to Helicopter crash. The President had been in office since 2001 to 2024 and had been a prominent figure in Iranian politics for many years.




World leaders and international organizations have begun to express their condolences to the people of Iran. The United Nations Secretary-General has released a statement offering his "deepest condolences" to the Iranian government and people. Other leaders, including those from neighboring countries, have also offered their sympathies.




Within Iran, citizens are mourning the loss of their President, with many taking to social media to express their grief. Opposition groups, however, have been more reserved in their response, with some even expressing relief at the news.



According to Iran's constitution, the Speaker of Parliament will assume the role of Acting President until a new election can be held. This is expected to take place within the coming weeks.
